It used to be that men with erectile dysfunction lost to this condition because it went as far as the 1990s before any real management came out that can really help combat this condition. Back then, men would simply not report to doctors or would just keep things to themselves as anyway, there was no visible and effective cure for impotency and men were disappointed with medical science as it was taking them a long time to come up with an effective cure or treatment for this. This was all broken finally in 1998 when Pfizer finally announced it had a drug to help combat erectile dysfunction and that drug was known as Sildenafil , better known and more advertised all around the world as the brand name Viagra, and this is the name that will now be known around the world as the primary drug for erectile dysfunction. It is now a good 11 years since this drug was released and it is so right in its online caption that this “is effective for most men” and take now of the word most as of course, it still has side effects and adverse reactions to some men, but in a general view, more than 90% says it works for them hence giving Viagra a good standing in terms of its efficiency against erectile dysfunction. No other drug can easily claim the mantle of the primary drug and Viagra will be at it for a long long time.
